At Saint Augustine

A day before my birthday, we went to Saint Augustine to spend the day with new friends. I had hurt my left foot and couldn´t walk, so being at the beach was the best thing ever. I didn´t have to move at all and the girls had a great time.

The next day was my birthday. My foot was better, but I got the flu (not the new flu, though), I had a problem at work, I got all wet because it rained and I didn´t have an umbrella, but at the end I had a great evening. These new friends we went to the beach with, had a cake, ice crean and lemonade to celebrate my birthday by the pool.

Un día antes de mi cumpleaños nos fuimos a pasar el día a San Agustín con unos nuevos amigos. Yo tenía el pie lastimado y no podía caminar, así que estar en la playa, disfrutando del sol, la arena y el mar fue lo mejor que me pudo pasar. No necesite moverme para nada y las niñas se divirtieron mucho.

Al día siguiente fue mi cumpleaños. Mi pie estaba mejor, pero me dio gripa (no la que está de moda), tuve un problema en el trabajo, me empapé porque no tenía paraguas... Pero al final fue un lindo día. Estos nuevos amigos me tenían un pastel, limonada y helado para celebrar mi cumpleaños en el área de la piscina

La fiesta

Por fin llegó el día que tanto habían estado esperando: su fiesta de cumpleaños. Las dos estaban muy emocionadas. Habían estado esperando este día por varios meses, pues sus cumpleaños ya tenían tiempo que habían pasado; pero, la fiesta había tenido que posponerse unos meses.

Nos levantamos temprano y nos fuimos al jardín donde iba a ser la fiesta. Carmen e Isabel se pusieron a jugar, y justo a la hora que habíamos citado llegó la primera invitada. Pero los siguientes invitados empezaron a llegar hasta una hora después. Otros, un par de horas más tarde. Y bueno, al final fueron muy pocos los invitados que llegaron. Eso las puso un poco tristes, pero con todo y todo se divirtieron y la pasaron muy bien.

Happy Birthday, Carmen!

Today was Carmen's 8th birthday! We didn´t have a cake for her this year, but we went to eat some churros and hot chocolate. We'll be throwing a birthday party for her and Isabel sometime next month. It´s been a really hectic semester.

Hoy Carmen hizo 8 años (como dicen acá en Chiapas). Por primera vez en ocho años no tuvo pastel. Pero fuimos a comer churros y chocolate caliente y en octubre haremos la fiesta para celebrar su cumpleaños y el de Isabel. Ha sido un semestre de locura con muchísimo trabajo.
