Lily and company

Lily, one of Carmen's best friends from Gainesville, came to visit us with her parents, Hope and Justin. They were with us four days and stayed at my parents'place.


Lily, una de las mejores amigas de Carmen de Gainesville, vino de visita con sus papás, Hope y Justin. Estuvieron con nosotros cuatro días y se quedaron en casa de mis papás (Gracias mami por recibirlos).


We went to different beaches: El Tesoro, el Teocolote and Balandra. The girls had a great time there but they seemed to enjoy the pools more. We went out a couple of times for ice-creams and to eat local sea food. Clams were a big hit. Hope and Justin were amazed at the way clams move when we put some lime on them. I thought that they were not going to eat them after that, but they did and loved them.


Fuimos a varias playas: EL Tesoro, El Tecolote y Balandra. Las niñas se la pasaron muy bien pero disfrutaban más las albercas. Salimos un par de veces a comprar nieves y a comer mariscos. Las almejas fueron un éxito. Hope y Justin se sorprendieron al ver a las almejas moverse con el limón. Pensé que ya no se las iban a comer después de eso, pero si lo hicieron y les encantaron.


Carmen had a hard time at the beginning speaking English but by the third day she was better at it. She played a lot with Lily but at the end Lily and Isabel were playing more together. There were laughs, dances, tons of stories, games, tears and we even had some meltdowns. But what's life without drama?


Al principio, Carmen batalló un poco con el inglés pero para el tercer día mejoró bastante. Jugó mucho con Lily, aunque al final Lily e Isabel jugaban más ellas dos. Hubo risas, bailes, cientos de historias, juegos, lágrimas y hasta berrinches. Pero la vida siempre necesita un poco de drama o no?
